How a Yield Monitor Works
- Grain is fed into the harvester’s elevator where sensors read the moisture content of the grain.
- As the grain is delivered to the holding tank, the mass flow sensor monitors yield.
- Information on both yield and moisture from the sensors are recorded by the EDGE or INTEGRA displays mounted in the cab.

A. Yield monitor kits are available for almost any combine manufactured within the last 20 years. The systems can monitor and record data for a variety of crops including corn, soybeans, small grains, rice and grass seeds.
Q. What accuracy can I expect from an Ag Leader yield monitor?
A. If calibrated correctly, growers can expect accuracy within 1-3% of actual yield using their Ag Leader yield monitor. Calibration instructions can be found in the Ag Leader yield monitor manual and www.agleader.com.
Q. How do I make and print yield maps?
A. Ag Leader precision farming displays record yield information in real-time as harvest occurs. Transfer data collected to Ag Leader's SMS desktop software or other precision farming software using the memory card or USB drive. Create, print and analyze field maps and reports using the software.
